BW on HANA NLS with SDA
Hi everyone,
Our project is currently implementing NLS with SDA on our BW on HANA setup.
However, there are certain questions that we have to clarify first before proceeding.
- Do we have to maintain any setting for BW Composite provider/Calculation View to enable NLS when we use SDA?
- Do we need to create all existing BW queries on top of composite provider/Calculation view if we want to use SDA? Currently all existing queries are built top of multi provider or infoset.
- Is there any conversion program to point all BW queries from Multiprovider to Composite provider/ calculation view if we want to use SDA?
- Do we need to perform any setting in BW query level to enable NLS for SDA?

Comparison between different practices of Data warehousing
Hello, everyone,
I'm trying to organize and list up the different BI practices (architecture & implementation) of data warehouse, targeting to figure out what's the best solution for different client scenarios.
(BW, BW on HANA, HANA, mix, and etc......)
For example:
For clients who will newly apply S/4HANA, or ERP on HANA, what's the BI solutions? (HANA/BW Query, real time Non-SAP --> HANA/BW by SDA etc.)
For clients who already applied with ERP, what's the best BI solutions when they upgrade to S/4HANA, or ERP on HANA. (Migration etc)
For clients.....etc
I don't know how many patterns exactly there are, and what situation each pattern applies to according to each's pros and cons. I tried to search on the SCN, but found the topic is too broad and failed to get what I wanted.
Hope you experts can shed some light on it, or share some documents related to this topic.

Smart Data Access - Execute in SQL Engine
Hi everyone,
I happened to have read a document here in scn:
The power of Smart Data Access (SDA) with SAP HANA SP08
http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-58084.
This document says that:
"All the calculation views using SDA-based virtual tables should be set to Execute In: SQL Engine."
Is this true for the newer SPS versions of HANA?
I'm currently trying SDA on virtual tables coming from NLS on IQ.

Securities roles on Advance DSO
Hi Experts,
We have migrated from Traditional DB to HANA DB and our securities roles are applied on Infocube.
For optimization purpose we are replacing the cube with Advance DSO. So can we apply those roles which are in cube to ADSO from securities perspective.

HANA Studio: BW Reporting Preview -> Error code 403
Hello Experts,
I just developed my first query with the new BW-MT Query-Designer V1.8 in HANA Studio.
The new query is working fine when I open it with the BEx Analyzer. But when I use the "BW Reporting Preview" in the new query designer error 403 (Service cannot be reached) occurs.
I guess I have to activate some services in TA SICF. But... which one?
Has anybody solved this issue before?

BI Content activation-A previous activation process is still running
BW_Hana experts,
I am activating some standard bi content in a hana system via BSANLY_BI_ACTIVATION tcode and selected the business category and pressed activated by specifying the RFC and other source systems. Unfortunately my GUI system was disconnected while the activation is in process. When i logged in back i see the message as Activation is in progress , when i try to activate a new business function or the same function again i see the error message as - A previous activation is still running. This message has been for more than a day and unable to resume it or start new activation.
Any suggestions to fix this are highly appreciated.

Hybrid Scenario
Hi Experts,
I Have the follow landscape:
HA1- BW on HANA ( BW 7.5 )
HA2- HANA Side Car(SLT/Real Time/HANA Live) ( HANA SP10 )
I have calculation views in HA2 with mandatory parameters and I need now make some reports in BW on HANA in order to combining information from HA1 and HA2, we have created a Smart Data Access to see HA2 virtual tables but the Calculation Views in HA2 has mandatory parameters.
We have the follow limitations:
Open DSO View - Is not possible to use parameters
Virtual Cube - You can use parameters but you can see just local models, just local Calculation Views in HA1 side ( BW on HANA)
Does anyone know the best way to do it?

BW Workspace query
Dear Community,
I have created a workspace in BW on HANA, then uploaded some local data to create a local provider, then I did a "self-union" with that local provider to create a composite provider and query in Workspace (no central provider used !!).
My problem is that now when I call this query I created, no dimensions are included in the results, so all data is rolled up to a Grand Total 
(I can see how this can be an efficient way to handle query results).
However, is there any way to build a query in the workspace transactions such that when the query is called the results will show the full "drilled-down" results - all dimensions included in the initial results, showing all data at detailed level?

Identify HANA Studio client tool for 32 bit
Hi,
I want to install HANA studio (for BW modelling) client in my machine. My machine is 32 bit. Searched in below link but unable to identify correct software.

Execution of report RODPS_ODP_IMG
Hello
We have a S/4HANA system with 2 clients: client 010 as the BW client and client 110 for transactionnal data
Can someone confirm me that the following actions are correct:
- I need to execute this report from BW client 010
- The parameter to be filles are:
- Modeling Client = 010
- Destination = DE1CLNT010 (A RFC destination that connect to this same BW client with Current User)
And, if I'm right, that means that endusers will require an acces to this BW client as well

Functions moved from GUI to WebUI
Hi Experts,
We have migrated the SAP BI 7.0 system in to the SAP BW 7.4 on HANA.
As per my knowledge, some of the functions in BW 7.4 on HANA, have been moved from GUI to Web UI. As I am new to this BW 7.4 on HANA, please let me know all the functions which have been moved from GUI to Web UI.

I am trying to implement IM - inventory management solution ( AKA 0IC_C03 in SAP previous version)
I activated Business Content ( version 757 007) and manage to review the model as in SAP documents
I review the transformation but could not find rules / function / procedures which calculate the Key Figures as well as the Non cumulative KF
Data loaded for set up tables but the result in the queries are "0" for all the KF
Has anyone managed to implement the HANA optimized version ??
Can anyone share knowledge / experience

We have requirement to supply data from BW 7.5 to external Non sap system. we are planning to use ODATA via Open hub.
can someone please give me steps on the set up of OData as to how to proceed and other details. I understand set up part is basis work but we need to give them initial details on what is required.
