Authorizations required for BW modelling (HANA Studio)
Hi,
I'm in the process of creating BW HANA modelling using HANA Studio. When we check using SYSTEM user it works well but when we check with my user ID it gives error while connecting. Does anyone has a list of authorizations required for modelling? BASIS does not want to give authorizations same as that of SYSTEM user as he says critical operations like backup etc happens through SYSTEM user.
Pls let me know.

Does Advanced DSO's support real time data acquisition through ODP Info Provider?
Hi Experts,
I have created a classic DSO followed by a real time supported generic data source. I am able to create a real time dtp through ODP Info Provider whereas I have created a AdvancedDSO with similar fields but not able to create a real time dtp.
Please help me on this.

Hello Gurus,
We have BW 7.4 (brand New system) on HANA (New system) with R3 S4 on HANA will be connected BO 4.1 and in turn on dashboards , we use all business content modules in 7.4(FI,CO,SD,MM,PP etc..) for the first phase. I would like to know what are the effort estimates for the reports preparation specifically to BW 7.4 features(like field based modeling or Open ODS views or Advance ODS).
or it is not required to consider 7.4 features while business content installation.
When integrating bw 7.4 with s4 on hana , does BW system should be in specific Service pack level ?
SAP HANA Live will it be useful for this scenerio?
Does SAP HANA live requires any additional licensing?

HANA Expert Script within Transformation into ADSO
Hello Experts,
today I created a DTP process from one of the NW Demo DataSources into an ADSO Object. Because within the DataSource are all Time Fields defined as Timestamp, I need to use some logic to transfer the timestamp into regular date format. I figured out the correct syntax for the conversion necessary within my HANA Expert Script Routine.
But when I try to activate my Transformation, I get an error message regarding the Technical Fields of the ADSO. In particular it is the Request ID Field.
What do I need to add into my HANA Expert Script, so that the Request ID is correctly filled within the Transformation?
We are using BW Netweaver Release 7.4 SP8

Dynamic Tiering - Scenarios
Hello All,
I have read the presentations and looked at videos on Dynamic Tiering but I did get any detailed information about DT for below mentioned scenarios, can you please help me trying to understand how we can enable DT?
BW on HANA:
-What kind of objects in BW are applicable for DT
- How can we expose the info providers to DT ?
- Is there standard process in place provided by SAP to schedule transfer?
- What are the limitations?
HANA on Cloud and S4 for HANA - Is DT applicable?

In SAP Hana Studio add Infoprovider problem
Hi everbody,
I created Advanced DSO in SAP Hana Studio and i want to create Composite Provider using by Advanced DSO.
But, when i click add Infoprovider button, i can see only classical DSO. I can't see any Advanced DSO.

Can RDA DTP load to Advanced DSO?
Hi,
Can real time dtp be used to load data direct to adv dso in BW 7.4/7.5 ?
I have generated ODP flow which pulls data from ecc via SLT and then init load is done via DTP as std dtp but there is no way to change it to real time dtp

Delete overlaping in Advanced DSO

Short Dump during transport of HANA view based HCPR (Composite Provider)
Hi Experts
I have created a composite provider(HCPR) - which is based on a HANA calculation view(an extension of HANA live view -Billing Document). Its working fine and i can use for my analysis or APD process.
When i try to transport this to QA system through TR(transport request) charm process i am getting the below mentioned dump.
Please shed some light and suggest any solution.

Automate the data load
Hi,
I have a process chain. This chain must be triggered when a particular data record gets inserted into a DSO. Can we do it? Do I need to create a program to schedule a job to keep checking for the data in DSO and then trigger? I'm not very comfortable with scheduling a job every few minutes all days to check for a record in DSO. Any effective alternatives?

BW powered by HANA and side car approach
Hi All,
We have a BW system running on a Sybase database.
We have the ECC and CRM system's too.
Now we are planning to "Power the BW on HANA" and also replicate tables from SAP ECC and CRM system using SLT and BODS, into HANA database and create information models in HANA .
After few years we want to power the ECC and CRM systems on HANA.
I want to know if the planned approach is fine and is there any drawbacks on this approach ?

Real-time extraction from ECC to SAP BW on HANA for standard extractors
Hi Experts!
We have an ERP SAP 7 SP14 connected to SAP BW 7.5 HANA. We need the information of FI module in real time, using the standard extractors. My question is, can I use in some way an SLT server to extract from normal ERP SAP (without ERP SAP HANA) using standard extractors with real-time data adquisition?
I have read about SLT but most of the documents says that you can replicate tables, but not complex logic like the standard extractors.

In RRI, Is it possible to jump to Transaction if the InfoProvider consists of HANA Views as source?
Dear all,
I want to jump from a BEx query to a transaction, the BEx query is based on a InfoProvider in which the transaction data are from HANA View only.
I followed the steps in BI RRI guide page but still failed to jump to transaction correctly.
I noticed that in the prerequisites in jumping to Transaction, it says:
There must also be a complete chain from the DataSource of the source system to the InfoSource, through transformations up to the InfoProvider.
But as from my colleague, there should be no Transformation or InfoSource if we use HANA View as DataSource,
so is that the reason why I failed?

BW Virtual Provider Error - Type "RSOS_TH_RUN_BUFFER" is unknown
Hi all
I am working in a 7.4 SP9 server.
I want to create a Virtual Provider based on a SAP HANA Model (a view).
I can set up the SAP HANA package and the view.
Then I click on SAP HANA View Fields option. That is alright.
I select all the non-assigned fields, press Ok and then ... I always get this dump

and it is true ... type RSOS_TH_RUN_BUFFER does not exist.
I haven't seen any note or post related to this error.
Any ideas, suggestions welcome!

PS #1) SP 9 installation was completed successfully, dont know why this type is missing.
PS #2) I have already related the same view to a transient and a composite and it worked successfully. It is not a view problem.

BW 7.4 Connection with IBM Cognos
Hi Experts,
I am looking to load the data from IBM Cognos TM1 to BW on HANA (BW 7.4). Do you guys have any pointers towards it ?
I did some research, COGNOS Team is looking into connecting with BW via some SAP BW Client in Cognos which will get it access to BW Info Providers
