ODP based on Advanced DSO

Hello,

 

I try to load data from one BW (global BW) to another (APO BW).

In the global BW there is a advanced DSO that should be used as a data source for the APO BW. How can I load the data from the global BW (ADSO) into the APO BW?

In the past we used the export data sources of standard DSOs. But nowadays there is no export data source for advanced DSO.

Therefore I tried to use Operational Data Provisioning (ODP) to extract the data. I've created a ODP BW source system successfully, but unfortunately I can create just data sources based on standard DSO, InfoCubes and HANA optimized Cubes but not ADSO.

Is there a solution how to use ADSO in ODP or another usefull workaround to get the ADSO data into the target BW?

Replace DSO with a view

Hello,

We have a DSO which we refer in many places on our system with ABAP code (select from /BIC/AOXXX00 ) . After upgrading to HANA we don’t need this DSO anymore, instead we can use a view on top of more granular DSO and save the loading time and disk space of this DSO.

Is there a way to create a view on top of the granular DSO (CDS view or DB view..) that will have the same name as the original DSO (/BIC/AOXXX00) and will replace it? This way we won't have a rewrite our code.

Persisting failed

Hi there.

I'm trying to create ADSO from template based on ERP DataSource using Hana Studio on Eclipse and get an error

 

"Persisting failed

Resource ADSO Znnnnnnn could not be successfully saved"

 

Any ideas?

http error on ADSO data Preview - BW Modeling Tool

Hello Experts,

 

I have recently installed New BW Netweaver 740 SP13 on HANA 102 (ABAP Stack only) and BW Modeling Tools (BW-MT) 1.12.

 

Created a new dummy ADSO on BW-MT to test the ADSO data preview feature but unfortunately it is giving below error

 

This page can’t be displayed

  • Make sure the web address http://<hostname>.<domain>.com:8000 is correct.
  • Look for the page with your search engine.
  • Refresh the page in a few minutes.

 

1) I can see http service active in SMICM

2) I have http entry in Profile parameter

 

icm/server_port_0        PROT=HTTP,PORT=8000,TIMEOUT=600,PROCTIMEOUT=600

 

3) I am able to telnet the IP of host and Port 8000

4) Same error even if I use the link with IP address http://<IP Address>:8000

 

Did any of face such issue? Am I missing anything else?

SAP embedded BPC vs. BPC classic

Hello,

 

we are on SAP HANA and got embedded BPC implemented.

 

Question:
embedded BPC uses BPC terms (I am not an expert here) like planning sequence, planning layout etc.

Is the functionality behind - in BPC embedded (BPCe) - the same as in BPC classic?

 

I could then purchase "old books (talking about BPC classic)" and acquire knowledge.

 

I also understand that BPCe - in contrast to BPC classic uses the info objects etc. from models already implemented

(no need to replicate etc.). Details like missing comment function and Analysis Office (I know already) are not

part of my question.

 

Perhaps there is anyone who can "bring light" here.

DSO data load issue

Hi Expert,

 

We are using SAP BW 7.4.

and have a DSO which brings the data in real time.

 

The data was getting updated properly, but all of a sudden the data update is not working now.

 

Please suggest how to resolve this issue.

Max size tables Advanced DSO

Hi, By creating an Advanced DSO we got error message AD846 meaning the underlying database tables are too long. The specific purpose of this ADSO is to store the data derived from an WebService DataSource with a lot of CHAR 250 fields with which the max. length of 4096 is exceeded (approx. 36.000 characters). We noticed SAP Note 1512035 to increase the max. view / table length via include RADTBCON. However: the SAP Note also notices “Modify the include RADTBCON and set the value for VIEWLEN to the upper limit for your database system” (in our case: SAP HANA). We also noticed SAP Note 1837308. Our questions: 1.    What is the max. size for tables / views in our situation: BW 7.4 SP12 on BW HANA? 2.    Which of the parameters in include RADTBCON has to be changed in this situation (tablen, viewlen, others)? 3.    Are there any adverse effects to take into account when we increase the max. table length? Using Extended Storage and NLS for ADSO

Hi experts,

 

I'm testing how works the extended storage for ADSO in a SAP BW 7.5 SP1 on HANA. At start, I created an ADSO without check the Extended storage Option and when I saw the Tx. Rshdbmon the change log and the Inbound table was check as early unload but the active table was not, as It shows the image.

Then I check the Extended Storage Option in the ADSO.

But still have the same configuration in the Tx. Rshdbmon.

How it really works extended storage for ADSO?



About NLS where is the option to do the archiving?, In DSO standard I found it in the manage of the DSO, but I can't find it for ADSO.

In the documents, I read that this option would be released in SAP BW 7.5 SP1, version that I'm actually working. Somebody knows if this option was really released in this version?

Advanced DSO activation

Hi,

 

We have following BW on hana system

 

System Environment:

SAP BW 740 SP11

HANA 1.00.85

 

The Bw tem is not able to view all the ADSO in the select object

 

not able to install ADS object

 

steps:

1)Go to rsa1

2)go to bi cont

3)click on advanced dso

4)Click on select object

 

We can see only around 10 objects in the affected system while in other system we can see a lot more.

 

How to get all the objects to be seen in the system.

 

We are also not able to install them

LSA++ confused with first layer

dear all

i understand most of the principles with the LSA and LSA ++

what i dont understand is where the first DSO(aDSO) sits in the new LSA++ model.

 

lets imagine i have a source extractor for transactional data. lets say it is going to be loaded via a PSA.

so does the DSO target for the PSA sit in the Operational Data Store Layer, or in the EDW Layer.

is my DSO going to be Write Optimized, or Standard.

when and by what, does the other Corporate Memory DSO get provisioned.

 

i see that much of the new advanced BI content, load straight into the EDW layer, without any prior DSO. what happened to the Acquisition Layer? is the Data Store Layer the Acquisition Layer ?

Embedded BW on S/4 Hana / Hierarchies on group Chart of Acount

Dear Experts,

 

i have a question regarding the the infoobject /ERP/GL_ACCT used in Cube /ERP/SFIN_V01.

Currently the infobject hierarchy is only showing the financial statements versions which are based on the operative chart of accounts.

I would like to have the hierarchy also displayed with group charts of account.

 

How can i extend the calculation view with group charts of account?

Ist there any table or view containing that information so that we can get used of it?

Can we do a connection with SLT to a table existing in ECC and do the replication in HANA and from there do a join with the exisiting calculation view?

 

Is there any other scenario to have the required data populated into the embedded BW?

Ways to save SAP BexQuery data in a native HANA table?

Hi,

 

we need to transfer data from an SAP BW on HANA system to a native HANA enviroment. What possibilities do we have?

 

That's what I found so far:

 

1. Save SAP BexQuery data as HANA view

2. Load SAP BexQuery data as Snapshot to SAP HANA

 

What would you recommend? Are there other ways?

Has anybody already experience with this?

Hi All,

 

I need the list of all the BW object types that may have different technical IDs in different systems when transported in the SAP landscape (from D -> Q -> P). I am just thinking about what would be the best and easiest way to get those object types. Appreciate if someone can give me some inputs with regards to this. We are on BW 7.4 release powered by SAP HANA.

I Just want to Know, what BW Activity and Task or BW Test we need to perform as Pre and Post (Before and After HANA migration) , So that we should not face any show stopper in last after BW on HANA migration.

Performance of Outerjoin in Composite Provider

Dear All,


In my composite provider I have Left outer joined 2 DSO with each around 6 million records. And when I call the composite provider in Analysis for Office the performance is very slow. The 2 DSO have n:m relationship.

 

Is there any general limit on the number of records and type of joins? ( ofcourse the performance also depends on the size and CPU of HANA DB)
