ODP with HANA Source System

$

Hi folks,

I am working on  BW 7.4 SP 5 System on a HANA DB SP7 (the testenvironment  with BO 4.1 Sp2 from CAL).

I connected the underlying HANA DB as an ODP System and tried to consume some of the EPM views as DataSources in BW. Everything looks fine, except that the DataSource fields have assigned units/currencies where there shouldnt be any.units.PNG

Pos. 2 for example has asigned APPROVALSTATUSDE which is field Pos. 1 etc....

Can anyone help?

Thx.

Markus

MANDT is missing in generic datasource based on view

Hello experts!

I met a strange issue while creating generic datasource based on view.

In the view I added a field "MANDT" as our customer asked us. then in RSO2, I created a datasource and saved it. After I click the save button, in the pop-up dialog box, the field MANDT is missing..

Then I copied the meta data in BW system. It is strange that the MANDT field is missing either but the index for fields in datasource began from no.2..

Can someone help me on this ?

thanks a lot !

Hi Champs,

We successfully moved a BW ADSO transport from Dev to QUA01 successfully and eventually to Production Box.

However We are trying to move a BW ADSO transport from Development to Quality02 as part of retrofit but ended with following errors.

This issue is prevailing since a month and really need your expertise at the earliest.

Thank you all

Need Information About ODP-SAP (Extractor) in SAP BW

Hello,

What is the Difference Between ODP-SAP(Extractors)  And ODP-SLT Queue Source System in SAP BW 7.5

ODP-SAP :- To Get Real Time Data From Standard SAP Extractors And Generic Extractors.

ODP-SLT Queue :- Only TABLE & Views are Used For Real Time Data And Other Non-SAP System also Supported For Real Time Data.

For ODP-SAP Standard Extractors in ECC Sources System PI_BASIS 7.40 and Above Packages Are Required?

How to Get Real Time Data From ECC as  SAP Standard Extractor or Generic Extractors  in ODP-SAP Source System?

Still I am seeing DIM IDs in this cube

HI Experts,

As per my sense, in SAP BW7.4 on HANA, creation of DIM IDs  no longer required.

Recently we have migrated and upgraded SAP BW 7.0 in to SAP BW 7.4 on HANA. Now I have converted one cube in to HANA Optimized Cube, but still I am seeing DIM IDs in this cube.

Can you let me know the reason.

Thanks,

Suresh.

Avg. dialog response time in a BW on HANA system

Hi,

What should be the benchmark for avg. dialog response time in a BW on HANA system? I know in OLTP systems its 1 sec but for BW systems on a traditional database it usually hovers around 2 sec. But what is the ideal avg. dialog response time of a BW system on HANA database. In our system its around 2 sec where the DB response time is around 800 ms - 1 sec. As per SAP standard the DB response time should be less than 40% of the dialog response time which we have. But as per HANA standard should we expect much lesser DB response time?

Thanks,

SUM/DMO Phase EU_CLONE_MIG_DT_CRC_RUN running too long

$

Hi

We are performing the SAP BW Migration to HANA using the SUM DMO option.

SUM SP14 Patch 9

Current Phase: Downtime

Module: MAIN_SWITCH/SUBMOD_MIG_SWITCH_ORG/SUBMOD_MIG_DOWNTIME_RUN/EU_CLONE_MIG_DT_CRC_RUN

This is this first cycle, and the option "compare all tables" were selected. This option should not be used for the other cycles, Just the first one.

We are on that phase EU_CLONE_MIG_DT_CRC_RUN where it is checking the tables from source (Oracle) and target (HANA).

The problem we are facing is that it is just running for to long, Started Feb17 00:00 and as per log today is on ONLY 29% as you can see in the log below. At this pace will never finish.

Does anyone know how can we skip this task? Speed up some how?  Anybody face that problem before?

As per log below the SUM tool reads 925 tasks from file 'MIGRATE_DT_CRC_CHK.BUC'. As per log below is on task 329 of 925.

I was thinking if maybe I edit the MIGRATE_DT_CRC_CHK.BUC and delete all the tasks there below task 331. That way SUM would execute until tasks 331 and proceed next phase ( I hope).  Like a way to CUT the number of check SUM this to do.  The concern is if the SUM tool will understand that and proceed? Or it might complain where are the missing tasks? or will this jeopardize the whole migration process, corrupting SUM execution?   Does anyone try to manipulate that file before?

HANA mixed scenario architecture concerns

$

Hi,

We are currently running on BW on Hana (7.4) and Hana native on a single DB and instance.

Bw is primarly used for BPC and native for non sap datasources loaded via BODS. We are having runtime license for BW and 256 GB of base edition license for native.

Now with the real BW implementation takes place (SAP datasources), we're going to need to upgrade our hardware to 2TB just for the BW portion. We're intending to leverage the BW generated HANA views with existing hana views for BI reporting.

My concern is the license whereby although BW runtime allowed us to get as much memory, the 50% rule for a single instance means we will need to acquire 1TB (2TB hardware) of base licenses although our current sizing for native is only at 256GB, which I think is not very cost effective although having all in instance would work best.

Therefore, would it be ideal to split the instances to 2 (BW and native) so we could have 2TB or more in Bw and BPC and remain 256 GB in native?

Another concern would be the BW generated hana views. By splitting instances means we wouldn't be able to use this anymore (since there is no hana native license for BW)? I know alternatively we could use the import Bw models in studio to achieve the same but it would be more of a 'pull' instead of 'push'.

Our environments are running on Vm if this could help.

Appreciate any thoughts on this.

Cheers

FAGLFLEXT table structure - mismatch with 0FI_GL_10

Hi Experts,

There is a custom field in standard core code block, which reflects in FAGLFLEXT table but the same field is not reflected in 0FI_GL_10 extractor ?

Same field is available in 0FI_GL_14 extractor (BSEG/FAGLFLEXA) and the Line Item Extractor shows the custom field.

WOPT DSO using SAP HANA Execution DTP

Hi Guys,

Does anyone experience having a target infoprov as WOPT using SAP HANA Execution DTP?

How where you able to handle duplicate records since SAP HANA Execution type of DTP disables semantic key and error stack?

We are going to apply NLS ang this might be an issue when we decide to use this dtp type, then when moving data from HANA DB to NLS, duplication is not detected.

Partitioned Info Cube error after migrating to BW on HANA

$

Hello Team,

Recently we have migrated our Dev BW system to HANA.

While doing data loads to partitioned Info Cube the data loadings are getting failed.

This is Error Message:

The error is Error occurred in write_ic for Data Target 0PS_C04

Errors Occurred in UPDATE_INFOCUBE for Data Target 0PS_C04.

If we remove the partitions then we are able to load data without any issues.

As this is only Technical Migration we are not converting any infocubes to Hana Optimized Info cubes and also some of the data flows among the failed Infocubes are in 3.x.

Question 1: What is the behavior of Standard Info Cube which have partitions and not converted to HANA Optimized in BW on HANA system ? Will the Info cube having same partitions as before after migrating to HANA data base?

Question 2: As i said earlier If i remove partition then data loadings are working fine. If this is the solution what would be the impact of queries runtime and will there be any other impacts such as transformations/update rules become in active etc..

Question 3: Another solution may be converting to HANA optmized which in turn deletes the partition while converting. But if i just convert info cubes to hana optimized which have 3.x flows we should also migrate data flows to 7.x flows . For info cubes which have already 7.x flows there will not be any impact if we migrate cubes to hana optmized.

Please suggest some feasible solution. Thanks in Advance
